A landslide in the hill district of Bandarban on Monday has left three dead.
Two others were rescued alive in the incident at the Ghumdhum hill in Naikkhangchhari Uapzila.
“Five labourers fell under the landslide while they were cutting the hill for construction of a drain. The landslide buried all the five workers under heaps of soil,” said Bandarban fire service official Iqbal Hossain.
The labourers are Mohammad Abu, Sona Mian, Md Jasim, Nurul Hakim and Nur Mohammad. All of them are aged 25 to 30 years.
“Of them, Nurul Hakim and Nur Mohammad were reused alive while bodies of three workers were recovered from the spot,” Iqbal said.
