The court also ordered the Sohel’s lawyer Sabbir Ahmed to provide an explanation by Feb 18, failure to do which will lead to necessary actions against Ahmed.
According to court sources, in August of 2017 Mansur was caught in possession of 50 tablets of yaba. He received bail and escaped the same year after which the court sentenced him to two years.
On Dec 2, Sohel posed as Mansur for Tk 50,000 and surrendered after which he pleaded for bail.
After the bail plea was scrapped, he admitted to serving time as a “proxy” for 18 days.
The court ordered Mansur to be produced in court and he was arrested on Dec 23.
