Four people were killed as a brick-laden truck lost control and fell into Turag River at Ashulia.
The incident was reported from Ashulia’s Maragang area on Tuesday (Jan 29).
The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old truck driver Mujahid Mia, 45-year old brick kiln security Abdul Quader, 18-year-old Md Arif and 32-year old Md Shahin, both workers.
According to locals and police, the truck was on its way to Baipal from Meghna Brick Kiln. It lost control and fell into the river while trying to navigate through a narrow road.
Uttara Fire Service Senior Station Officer Shafiqul Islam said that they reached the scene and three units of fire service men and divers recovered the bodies at 11 am.
Ashulia police OC Jabed Mahmud said that the bodies have been brought back to the stations.
