Two siblings have been killed as they were run over by a truck while returning home on their father’s motorbike at the Dhaka-Mawa highway at Dhaka’s Keraniganj Upazila.
The incident was reported from Rajendrapur Mollarpur area of the Upazila at around 10 am on Monday (Jan 28).
Police identified the deceased as 13-year-old Afreen and 10-year-old Afsar Uddin, both students of Cosmo Metropolitan School and College.
“Their father Shamsuddin Dalim was returning home with them after their school ended,” said South Keraniganj police Sub Inspector Mansur Ahmed.
“A truck from the opposite end ran them over leaving the siblings dead on spot,” he added.
SI Ahmed said their father is currently undergoing treatment at Salimullah Medical College Hospital.
