Rakhine state in Myanmar is still burning after the assurance of returning back the Rohingyas fleeing to Bangladesh. Rohingyas are still fleeing in Bangladesh as their houses are burnt every day. Asylum seekers Rohingya says, the Myanmar army has instructed through mike to the Rohingyas in Rakhine to move to Bangladesh. Also, they are searching the Rohingyas in every village & ward. Those who had been hiding in the forest of Rakhine for a long time, they are also fleeing to in Bangladesh for shelter.
During the last two days, visiting different border areas of Bangladesh, it has been found that the houses of Rakhine state of Myanmar are still being burnt randomly. It has seen from the border of Bangladesh. Nowadays burning houses in Rakhine is a common affair for Myanmar army and Maghs.
According to sources, in the last two days, around three and a half thousand Rohingya refugees have fled to Bangladesh through Shah Pari Island of Teknaf, Haiqiang Ulubania, Dhamankhali of Lambabil and Palangkhali of Ukhia, Ghumdhum and Tumbru border of Naikhongchhari.
Myanmar's army and Maghs are announcing every day through the mike, if anyone is found in Rakhine within a week, they will be burnt alive."My house is located in Shilkhali village of Myanmar," said Solema Khatun, an old Rohingya woman who crossed the Naf River through Teknaf to get shelter in Ukhia's Baluchali camp, Bangladesh. ‘After fleeing from Rakhine, I ran away from my house. In the meantime, my husband Badiul Alam disappeared a week ago. But on last Sunday, Myanmar's army and Maghs have announced through the mike to go to Bangladesh. Because of this, we have crossed the Naf River with others to Bangladesh in fear of life,’ she added.
At one stage, the reporter told them that Myanmar has promised to take Rohingya back to Myanmar. But Rohingyas do not believe this statement. They said that Myanmar's government is lying and it is their political tactics.
Meanwhile, Taher Naim, a local senior journalist living in Unciprang border of Teknaf Upazila, said, "Today from 10 am to 5 pm, villages in Kumarkhali and Shilkhali of Rakhaine were seen burning. The local officials of different law enforcement agencies have also seen this. In the meantime, those (Rohingyas) who were hidden in Myanmar was seen fleeing to Bangladesh to take shelter.”
It is to be mentioned that at 11 am on Monday, the Kyaw Tint Swe, Minister of Myanmar's State Councilor's Office had a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh in state guest house (Padma). After the meeting, Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali said, Myanmar has assured the return of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar. At the same time, it has been decided to form Joint Working Group with representatives of the two countries, he said. Because of this, Bangladesh has given a draft of the agreement to Myanmar for the withdrawal of the Rohingyas.
