At least four people were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhak-Sylhet highway in Madhabpur upazila of the district on Tuesday (May 15) morning, police said.
Jasim Uddin, office-in-charge of Shayestaganj highway police, said details of the deceased were not immediately available.
Police quoting locals said that a Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus hit a truck coming from opposite direction in Shapur area of the upazila, leaving three dead on the spot and six others critically injured.
The injured were rushed to the local hospital where one succumbed to injuries.
The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, Jasim said before adding that police seized both bus and truck.
