Student protesters have blocked the shuttle train at Chattogram on Monday (May 14) in support of the nationwide strike demanding government order on quota reform.
Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Council announced a strike sine die and nationwide boycott of classes at all education institutions across the country as no gazette was issued by Sunday (May 12).
Sholsahar Station Master Shahabuddin told Bangla Tribune, “The shuttle train left for the university at 7:30am on Monday. But the protesters blocked the train at city’s Sholsahar Station.”
Train communication would remain halted for now, he added.
The Council’s CU unit Convener, Anwar Hossain said that the demonstration will continue until gazette on quota reform issued.
Presence of students was thin on the campus. No class or examination was reported postponed.
