Another man has been arrested in connection to the rape of a woman in Noakhali’s Subarnachar, allegedly for casting her vote in favour of BNP’s electoral symbol ‘paddy sheaf.’
Detectives arrested Salauddin from Sultanpur village of the district’s Sadar Upazila around 12am on Sunday (Jan 6), Noakhali police SP Iliyas Sharif told Bangla Tribune.
With Sunday’s arrested, So far, eight out of nine accused including the mastermind, Ruhul Amin, were put behind bars in this case.
The SP said, “Salahuddin, son of Toakai of Baggaya village of Subarnachar Upazila, is the ninth accused in the case filed over the rape incident.”
Manhunt underway to arrest the rest of the accused, Sharif added.
