Two suspected drug-peddlers have been killed in what the police have described as shootouts in Mymensingh.
They have been identified as Abdullah Al Kafi, 31 and Alamgir Hossain Gutu, 27, who were killed in separate shootouts at Mymensingh sadar and Muktagacha on Friday.
District police OC (intelligence) Shah Md Kamal Akand said that they were listed drug-dealers and had been named in several cases.
Kafi was killed in a shootout which ensued during a police raid at Muktagacha around 1:45am when drug-peddlers opened fire on police officers forcing them to retaliate while the other shootout took place around 1:30am during an anti-drug raid when Gutu was killed.
In both cases, they were found bullet hit after the gunfight ended and police took them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital when the doctors pronounced them dead.
Police recovered an LG rifle, two rounds of bullets and two kgs of hemp from the scenes.
