BNP chairperson, Khaleda Zia’s adviser, Khondokar Abdul Muktadir, has been shown arrested as a suspect in several cases lodged at the Sylhet metropolitan thana. Without any specific case, he is being taken to court on Thursday (Oct 25), conformed Sylhet Kotwali thana OC, Mohammad Selim.
The OC, said: “Abdul Muktadir has been shown arrested as a suspect in several cases of sedition, obstruction to government work and assault on police.”
Khondokar Abdul Muktadir was arrested on (Oct 24) last from in front of Hotel Roseview in Sylhet. Before entering the hotel, he was detained and taken away by plainclothes policemen.
Condemning the arrest, BNP secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, demanded his release.
“The arrest of Abdul Muktadir after a peaceful rally proves that the government is chalking a blue print to stay in power by force.”
