Five JMB activists on 2-day remand

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been granted two days to quiz recently held five JMB members after they were produced before a Court in Natore.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order on Monday (Oct 1) during the hearing of a 7-day remand plea by the case’s investigative officer SI Shah Alam.

On Sept 29, RAB arrested three members of the banned militant outfit JMB from Baraigram Upazila’s Bhabanipur village while they were holding a secret meeting. Two others were held later based on information obtained from them.

The arrested have been identified as Mowlana Jobaer Hossain, 35, Mostafizur Rahman alias Farhad, 36, and Alauddin alias Abbas, 38, Ashraful Islam, 32, and Zakaria Sarker.
