A garment worker has been raped on a moving bus, say police in Dhaka’s Dhamrai Upazila.
Five people have been arrested and a case has been started, said Sub-Inspector Bhajan Das.
The suspects have been identified as Sohel Rana, 20, Mokbul Hossain, 38, Abdul Aziz, 24, Babu Mallik, 25 and Balram, 20.
According to police, the victim was whisked away by the men as she was waiting at Dhamrai’s Srirampur to catch a bus for home around 10pm.
The men shoved her into a bus, where she was raped, police said quoting the victim’s family.
Locals at Dhamrai reported to police, when they heard a woman screaming from a moving bus, said Sub-Inspector Das.
A police patrol on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway managed to track the bus and arrested the five.
