Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad says he will serve as a minister in the election-time administration.
Speaking to the media in Rangpur on Thursday, the special envoy to the PM said, "There's no bar for me to be a minister. But that's not the case for Rawshon Ershad as she will be the Leader of the Opposition until the polls. So, I will definitely be in the Cabinet."
The former military dictator reiterated that they will remain in the Awami League-led alliance if the BNP joins the newly-formed coalition led by Badruddoza Chowdhury and Dr Kamal Hossain.

He said “Their alliance will not be a strong one because the public does not trust the BNP anymore.”

Regarding the BNP chief’s illness he said, “The government will hospitalize her if they see fit.”

Jatiya party has requested 100 seats for the election and the party chief is confident that they will be granted at least 70 of those seats.

He refused to make further comments on the BNP’s participation in the upcoming elections saying that it is irrelevant to him.
