Section of media reports to incite instability: Quader Road and Transport Minister Obaidul Quader blamed a section of media for providing coverage aimed to create instability in the country.
On Saturday (Sept 8), the ruling Awami League secretary general travelled to the northern district of Nilphamari by train to join the party campaign ahead of the 11th parliamentary election, due late this year.
Quader held 17 to 18 rallies on his way from Dhaka to Nilphamari that caused the passengers sufferings as the train delayed for nearly 5 hours.
On Sunday, journalists brought the matter to his attention, Quader said, “A large number of people attended the rallies. But, a section of media provides coverage intentionally to create instability in the country.”
The senior AL Leader urged them to refrain themselves from doing so.
Speaking to the media at Syedpur Airport, Quader said, “BNP and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami tried to ride on the back of quota reform protests and road safety campaign but they failed.”
On AL nomination, Quader said, “Party President Sheikh Hasina has tracked the records of leaders and popularity will be the key to the nomination.”
The AL general secretary claimed that BNP and Jamaat are hatching conspiracy home and abroad to carry out the violence like they did in 2014.
“No conspiracy will work, we will resist it with the help of people,” Quader said.
