Robber killed in Bogura 'shootout'

ShootoutA robber named Apon alias Cesar, 32, was killed in a 'shootout' with police near Matidlai Bridge in Bogra suburb on the wee hours of Thursday.
Apon was wanted in 11 cases with police, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Media) Sanatan Chakraborty.
A team of police raided the area around 2:30am based information of plotting a robbery.
Sensing the presence of the lawmen, the group of robbers started firing, Sanatan Chakraborty said.
Police also replied with fire which triggered a gun battle left Apon died, he added.
However, police assumed that Apon could have died with the bullets from his cohorts.
A pipe gun, two round cartridge, a machete and a latest Burmese knife were found in the scene, said Bogura Police Station OC SM Bodiuzzaman.
