Fire gutted Rohingya houses in Cox’s Bazar

Representational Image.A fire has erupted at the Rohingya camp left fourteen houses burnt in Cox’s Bazar.
The incident was reported from district’s Teknaf Upazila around 2am of Wednesday, said police.
Witnesses say that the fire was started at a polythene store in the western region of the camp and spreads to the nearby rooms.
Howaikong police camp Sun-Inspector Dipongkar Karmakar said, “The fire erupted at the Chakmarkul (Putinbonia) Rohingya camp in Hoyaikong union though no casualties have been reported from the scene.”
The fire can be started from gas cylinder and it will be investigated,” Karmakar added.
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Rabiul Hasan said, “The affected people have been shifted from the scene.”
