A certain quarter always starts hatching conspiracy ahead of the national polls, says senior Awami League leader Mohammad Nasim.
“No result will come out by placing any formula or proposing talks. Like other democratic countries, election in Bangladesh will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in line with the Constitution,” he said on Sunday (Aug 2).
Speaking at a celebration of Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, in Sirajganj, the AL presidium member said, “All parties have the right to participate in polls but no one can unleash violence.”
Bangladesh is a non-communal country, the senior AL leader said adding, “People of all religions including Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists are enjoying equal rights during the tenures of Sheikh Hasina.”
“But, the defeated quarters of the 1971 Liberation War, as well as the anti-liberation forces, are trying to destroy the peace in the country,” alleged Nasim, who is the spokesperson of the AL-led 14-party alliance.
