YabaA police officer has been arrested in Chattogram for his alleged involvement in trafficking methamphetamine-based yaba.
Sub-Inspector Badrudduza Mahmud is believed to be involved with a consignment of the contraband substance that was seized by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said Mirsharai police OC Sairul Islam.
On Friday, a RAB team found 29,285 yaba pills concealed inside filing cabinet carried by a truck on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Mirsharai.
A diary owned by Badrudduza, who had recently been transferred from Dhaka to Chattogram, was found in the file cabinet along with his name, BP number and contact.

RAB had started a case over the incident at Mirsharai Police Station, accusing the driver and his assistant.
“Evidence suggests Sub Inspector Badruddoza Mahmud was involved with the yaba consignment. He has been arrested in cooperation with the Khulshi police in Chattogram city and produced before a court, which sent him to jail,” said Mirsharai police OC Islam.
