Police arrested four operatives of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh, (JMB) from Chapainawabganj.
A RAB Unit arrested them in a raid conducted at 11:30pm on Monday.
The arrestees have been identified as Akhtarul Islam, 46, Abdul Quader, 30, Aminul Islam, 30, and Abdur Rahman, 39, who are active members of the outfit, said RAB.
Chapainawabganj RAB-5 commander Sayed Abdullah Al Murad said, “We got a tip-off that some JMB members would meet at a secret place to plan a sabotage act.”
We conducted raids in different places and found them at Dakkin Shohor area in the district at 11:30pm Monday.
One pistol, one magazine, five round bullets, 400 grams gun powder and some fundamentalist books were seized during the raid.
Legal action will be taken against them, he added.
