Four minors died due to the outbreak of an ‘unknown’ disease at remote Sonai-Tripura Para in Hathazari Upazila.
Three of them were from the same family, locals said.
Two of the infants died on Tuesday (Aug 21), one on Friday and the last one on Sunday, respective family sources said.
Local Union Council member Sirajul Islam said, “We informed the issue to the Upazila health department, they are working on it.”
Civil Surgeon of Chattogram Azizul Haque confirmed about the death of the minors.
“The families said the babies were suffering from fever and rash before dying. 22 other children are undergoing treatment at Hathazari Health Complex”, he told Bangla Tribune.
Besides, he said, a medical team from Dhaka will visit the hospital to collect the blood samples of the affected patients.
