Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has allegedly beaten a Bangladeshi national for intruding into the Indian territory.
BSF detained 50-year-old Asad Sheikh from Parigahat area, Indian side of the Hili border, on Wednesday morning.
Asad went to India on Tuesday evening to bring Sarees on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha.
“The next day morning, BSF men held me and seized all the products when I was returning to Bangladesh,” Asad said.
Asad was taken to BSF camp where they severely beat him with sticks and kept him shackles.”
“Later in the afternoon, I managed to escape BSF camp,” he said.
Asad underwent treatment at Hakimpur Upazila Health Complex.
“His left leg bore injury marks,” said Dr Ahsan Ali Sarkar, who is resident medical officer of the hospital.
