Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) continues its expansion in South Asia with the signing of its first hotel in Khulna, the third largest city in Bangladesh.
Scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2023, Radisson Hotel Khulna is nestled in a prime location 2.5km from the centre of the city, the company said in a statement last week.
“Bangladesh is expanding exponentially, with strong economic growth creating opportunities for development across the country. The success of our hotels in Dhaka and Chattogram reflects rising demand from domestic guests and international travelers alike. We look forward to introducing a new level of international hospitality to Khulna,” it quoted Radisson's Asia Pacific President Katerina Giannouka.
Radisson Hotel Khulna will feature 150 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and coffee lounge, a swimming pool, fitness centre, and a spa, according to the statement released on Feb 13.
Meeting and event facilities will include a large and divisible ballroom, a pre-function area, meeting rooms and a boardroom, it added.
Radisson Hotel Group and the Grand Hotel & Hospitality Limited have signed an agreement for the Khulna venture, which will be operating under a Hotel Management Agreement.
“Khulna is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and a big focus for the public and private sectors. The investment in infrastructure projects such as Padma Bridge and Khan Jahan Ali Airport is very encouraging for the investor community. Consequently, there is a growing demand for international standard accommodation. With the presence of a world-class brand like Radisson, we are confident that the hotel will boost the commercial and tourism sectors of the city,” Grand Hotel & Hospitality Managing Director Shezan Gazi was quoted in the statement.
Currently, Radisson operates two hotels in Bangladesh -- Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, and Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View.
