The Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) says it will disconnect electricity supply to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), if they fail to pay due bill by December.
Officials of the power distribution company made the announcement during the ongoing public hearing over proposals for power price hike at capital’s Trading Corporation of Bangladesh auditorium on Monday (Dec 2).
Consumer Association of Bangladesh’s Energy Adviser Shamsul Alam has inquired the capital’s power supply office over the due from the corporations.
Responding to that, DPDC Executive Director (Operations) ATM Harun ar Rashid said, “Dhaka North owes Tk 640 million to DPDC and Dhaka South owes Tk 940 million to it.”
“DPDC has noticed two city corporations with a due date,” he added.
“If the payments aren’t made in time, the service will be cut off,” he warned.
