Gold prices hiked again in a month

In a statement on Monday (Aug 5), Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) said that the new prices will be effective from Tuesday (Aug 6).
The BAJUS had increased the price of per bhori of 22-, 21-, and 18-carat gold by Tk 1,166 per bhori (11.683 grams) each with no change in the rates of the traditional method, platinum, and silver.
As per the revised prices, consumers will pay Tk 54,529 per bhori of 22-carat gold, Tk 52,196 per bhori of 21-carat, and Tk 47,180 per phori of 18-carat gold.
The association said the prices went up due to the rise of gold prices in the international market.
At present, the price for gold in the traditional method is set at Tk 27,588, for 23-carat platinum at Tk 65,026 per bhori, and for 21-carat silver at Tk 1,050 per bhori.
Earlier on Jul 24, Jewellers also hiked the price of gold.
