Bangladesh Bank has directed the commercials banks to keep an adequate amount of money at their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) during Eid-ul-Azha, to be celebrated across Bangladesh on Aug 12.
In addition, banks also ordered to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transactions through Point of Sale (POS), e-Payment Gateway or internet banking and Mobile Financial Services (MFS) during the Eid, said a BB circular issued on Monday (Aug 5).
Banks also asked to ensure adequate security at the ATM booths, create awareness among the merchants and clients to prevent forgery in POS services, and inform the clients about transactions through SMS service, said the circular.
It also instructed the banks to provide Help Line services during the vacation, if any client faces harassment.
