Stocks end flat on lower turnover

Sunday’s (May 12) trade value at DSE declined to Tk 3.58 billion from Thursday’s (May 9) Tk 3.76 billion and the daily trade fell to 126.8 million shares from 127.3 million shares of the previous session, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 1.91 points down at 5,273.93. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 4.86 points down at 1,846.48 and with 1.29 points down at 1,219.02.
At the DSE, prices of 153 securities out of the day’s 347 closed higher against 150 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were RN Spinning, OIMEX, Aamra Net, Apollo Isphat and LRGOBMF1.
The major losing issues were Dulamia Cotton, ARAMITCEM, Uttara finance, Emerald Oil and BGIC.
Fortune topped the turnover list followed by BSC, Power Grid, ESQUIRENIT and OIMEX. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day with downward trend with its major CASPI 12.64 points down at 16,173.91.
At the CSE, a total of 227 issues were traded while 114 closed higher and 95 closed lower as 8.5 million shares worth Tk 228.6 million changed hands.
