Forty two farms granted bank loans to buy rawhide

Four state-owned banks have provided loans to the rawhide traders for purchasing skins of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha.
A total of Tk 6.01 billion was disbursed among 42 rawhide trading farms by Sonali, Janata, Rupali and Agrani Banks.
The traders will be able to purchase 7 to 7.5 million pieces of rawhide with this amount.
Bank officials said, “Loans were granted to established business owners who successfully paid back last year’s loan.”
Among the four banks, Janata Bank disbursed the most amounts. They granted 32 farms with Tk 2.1 billion in loans.
Rupali Bank and Sonali Bank provided Tk 1.75b and 0.7b respectively to 3 companies each. Four other companies are being funded with Tk 1.46b by Agrani Bank.
