Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Board (BTRC)Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has revoked its earlier order to the International Internet Gateways (IIGs) to shut down 58 online news portals in the country.

“We have received orders from BTRC and are working to reopen the portals; they will be gradually operational,” Imdadul Hoque, General Secretary of Internet Service Providers Association Bangladesh (ISPAB) told Bangla Tribune on Monday (Dec 10).

On Sunday (Dec 9), the IIGs blocked access to the news portals following the regulatory authority’s order.
