Tamim Iqbal’s absence in the Bangladeshi opening order is evident as Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain Shanto failed to perform in back to back matches after Tamim flew back home sustaining a wrist injury.

Team management has now decided to include Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar in the squad for the ongoing Asia Cup.

The duo is set to join the tigers tomorrow, Akram Khan told journalists on Friday.

He said, “The team is struggling with the opening pair. Therefore we are including Imrul and Soumya in the squad.”

“They are likely to play in the match against Pakistan,” he added.
