Describing the BNP as ‘devious and destructive entity’, Awami League Obaidul Quader claimed that the party had deployed thousands of fake students to unleash violence during the road safety protests.
“There’s nothing the BNP can’t do … a devious and destructive party. They had thousands of fake-students carry weapons in bags to unleash violence,” he said at an event organized by the body of Secretariat employees.
Referring to BNP leader Moudud Ahmed’s remarks that no elections will take place without them, the AL general secretary said, “When did we say that? They want talks. Last time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called for discussions, but they turned it down. Their calls for dialogue are nothing but an excuse.”
Describing party chief Hasina as ‘the guardian of innocent people’, “It’s because of her assurance the students returned to classes. Peace has been restored for now, but conspiracies are still on.”
