Awami League (AL) has started assaulting on free thinking to consolidate one-party rule, alleged BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The ruling side is paving the way to be in power by eliminating the oppositions, he said.
The senior BNP leader made the remark in the rally protesting the attack on the editor of the daily ‘Amar Desh’ in front of National Press Club in the capital on Monday.
Terming the attack as pre-planned, Mirza Fakhrul said that the police officer in the area was a ruffian adding, “The home minister assured me to protect Mahmudur Rahman when I phoned him after the attack.”
He severely condemned the heinous act and demanded immediate legal step to bring the attackers under trial.
