Moudud for polls under caretaker administration

Senior BNP leader Moudud AhmadBNP Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to announce the next parliamentary election under a caretaker administration.
“A large number of people will gather at today’s (Saturday) mass reception to the prime minister proving AL’s popularity. So we hope that she will announce the next upcoming polls under a caretaker administration to prove how popular her party really is,” Moudud said.
Speaking at a discussion in the city on Saturday, the senior BNP leaders said, “We (BNP) don’t have objection on the government spending for this mega event. But, we have to be allowed (to hold such large rallies).”
Claiming quota reform not affiliated to political parties, Moudud said, “Students take part in this movement spontaneously. As hard as the government tries it will never be able to foil the movement.”
“These thousands of students aspire to get jobs in civil services on the basis of merit,” Moudud said.
On Bangladesh Bank’s gold adulterated scam, the BNP leader demanded the resignation of the government as well as the central bank governor.
