Krishak League has fixed the council date on Nov 2, while Sramik League’s council will be held on Nov 9.
Shecchashebak League and Jubo League are scheduled to hold council on Nov 16 and Nov 23 respectively.
The dates were fixed during a meeting at the prime minister’s official residence Ganabhaban on Wednesday (Oct 9), confirmed Awami League’s Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman and Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua.
However, Biplob Barua told Bangla Tribune that the date of Krishak League’s council may change.
The existing committees, with a validity of three years each have long expired with the last council being held in 2012.
The ruling party is scheduled to hold its own national council in December and decided to renew the affiliate committees prior to that.
