Election under ‘non-party govt’ must: MoududThe next national election under a neutral-govt is must as BNP will force the government to hold through a national unity, says BNP leader Moudud Ahmed.
The BNP will not participate in the polls keeping its chief Khaleda Zia behind bar, he said.
Speaking at a discussion in the city on Saturday (Jul 14), the Standing Committee member said, “They (the government) talk about the participatory polls. Prime Minister and (diplomats of) the foreign countries echo the same, even neighboring India is also saying so.”
“If they think all-inclusive polls is possible without BNP, they are mistaken. No participatory election is possible in Bangladesh without BNP” said Moudud.
On quota reform protest, Moudud said, “Stop arresting the demonstrators and release the detained ones.”
“Stop torturing the students otherwise they will launch a bigger movement, at that time the countrymen won’t stay away from joining it,” he said.
