Abdul Kader Siddiqui, who leads the Krishak Shramik Janata League an ally in the Jatiya Oikya Front, has written to coalition’s leadership claiming it pre and post polls activities were not unequivocal.

In his letter, dated May 9, Kader Siddiqui slammed the coalition’s top brass for “maintaining a double standard”.

Bangla Tribune obtained a copy of the letter on Saturday (May 11).

Kader Siddiqi's letter

The letter reads, “Sultan Mohammad Monsur took oath as Member of Parliament and Mokabbir Khan followed his footsteps. Earlier, both of them lambasted 11th national polls as mockery. Such conflicting stances are misleading the people and it’s also embarrassing for the allies.”

He came down hard on the coalition for “remaining silent on crucial issues like violence against women and children.

“Questions have also arisen over BNP welcoming the move of its five MPs-elect to join parliament as well as over Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s decision to not take oath.”

Kader Siddiqui warned of quitting the bloc unless these issues were addressed by Jun 9.

Zafrullah Chowdhury, one of the sponsors of the Oikya Front, confirmed Bangla Tribune about receiving the letter.

He said, “We will arrange a meeting soon on various issues also try our best to continue talks on a regular basis.”
