The ruling Awami League’s activists are involved with the rape incidents throughout the country, alleged BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
“The authoritarian regime in the country has led to a rise in rape and abuse,” he said on Saturday (May 11) during a human chain demonstration demanding justice over the rape and murder of Kishoreganj nurse Shahinoor Akter Tania and proper treatment for incarcerated party chief Khaleda Zia.
“Justice isn’t served as the ruling party leaders and activists are involved with these incidents,” he added.
Rizvi said that the ruling party has wrongfully imprisoned Khaleda because they fear an uprising against their wrongdoings.
