BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam AlamgirThe elections to Dhaka University Student Central Union will motivate the future generation to involve in politics, says BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“There was no election to DUCSU for 28 years that stopped leadership creation and brought reluctance among our future generation,” he said on Sunday (Mar 10).
Speaking at a party programme in Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Whichever the student body will emerge victorious or suffer defeat will be considered later.
“This election has created a wind in favour of student politics. If it continues it will be better for the state and the nation. We will then create our political leadership,” he said.
The senior BNP leader urged the activists not to pay heed to tiny problems inside the party rather than “working to strengthening the organisation.”
“We have to free (BNP chief) Khaleda Zia from jail, bring back Action Chairman (Tarique Rahman) home to restore the democracy in the country,” he said.
Mirza Fakhrul demanded a national election under a non-partisan government.
“Otherwise, the government will bearer responsibility of all destruction,” he said.

Elections to the DUCSU and Hall Unions are scheduled to be held on Monday (Mar 11).
