Ruling Awami League has called BNP to join the parliament rather taking the streets.
“Giving speech in front of the Press Club and briefing media won’t bring any result... Join parliament. We want to cooperate with you (BNP),” said AL Presidium member Mohammad Nasim.
He made the comment on Tuesday (Mar 5) at a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote marking the sixth death anniversary of former AL general secretary Abdul Jalil.
Blaming BNP for its current dismal state, Nasim said, “BNP is responsible for its own woes; Khaleda Zia is serving for not trying the killers of Bangabandhu.”
But BNP can atone for their sins by coming to parliament, he added.
The former health minister said, “BNP has spread lies that they were not allowed to campaign on the field during the elections.
“We always want a powerful opposition party in the country,” Nasim he said adding, we call on BNP to come to parliament and identify the errors of the government.
