Making Shajahan Khan the chief of a high-level panel formed to bring order to roads and the transport sector is ironic, said BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
“This labour leader (Shajahan Khan) is responsible for the loss of lives and disorders on the road,” told the media on Tuesday (Feb 19) at the party headquarters in Naya Paltan.
“He always stood in the way of the movements regarding the irregularity or disorder in the roads,” he added.
Rizvi said that the former shipping minister was responsible for the road accidents and letting him lead a road safety committee was nothing but a farce.
The senior leader then announced multiple programs on behalf of BNP for the International Mother Language Day on Feb 21.
The party will arrange several discussion meetings throughout the country and the national and party flag will be half raised and a black flag will be hoisted both at the BNP headquarters and the party chief’s Gulshan office.
