Ruling Awami League candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral by-polls Atiqul Islam has pledged to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in all public transports if elected.
“Our dwellers want an inhabitable city more than clothes. Our women want a city free from harassment. CCTV cameras will be installed at each bus if you (people) elect me mayor,” he told a campaign programme at the city’s Mirpur on Monday (Feb 18).
Asserting that the ruling party is the sole vessel for our city’s progress, Atiqul expressed his ambition for restoring Dhaka’s lost tradition.
