Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday (Jan 4) indicated that there might be a ‘big surprise’ in the new cabinet.

He was talking with journalists after paying homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi by Prime Minister and the party chief Sheikh Hasina.

“I think there will be a big surprise in the new cabinet,” he said.

AL had a landslide victory on Dec 30 National Election and out of 300 seats, it bagged 257.

We have a massive win and there might be a big surprise, he said without elaborating.

“The prime minister is solely responsible for cabinet and no one has the scope to enter the domain,” he added.

About the meeting between Oikyo Front leaders and US envoy to Dhaka Earl Robert Miller, Quader said, they can always have meeting, it’s not a big deal for us.
