The Awami League and the 14-Party Alliance will officially announce the name of the candidates for the upcoming polls after extensive scrutiny, said General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“I call the media to avoid creating confusion by reporting from inauthentic sources,” he told the media on Monday (Nov 26).
“Sometimes it happens that someone’s name came up in the media but they do not get the nomination after the official announcement. It becomes embarrassing then,” Quader added.
He urged the media to play a responsible role in ensuring a fair election and to not publish any names before the official announcement of the nominees is made.
