HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party (JP) has written to the ruling Awami League for talks to discuss strategies for the upcoming election.
JP Presidium member Sunil Shubho Roy said the letter by Ershad has been handed over to officials of the Ganabhaban, the PM’s official residence, on Saturday.
“Jatiya Party wants to discuss strategies for the election. We hope the Awami League will respond soon,” Roy told Bangla Tribune.
Sources at the JP confirmed that the agenda does not include sharing of parliamentary seats, rather the strategy of taking part in the election — as a coalition or separately.
