Former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin will contest in the upcoming national polls.
“I will collect Awami League (AL) nomination form on Sunday,” Farashuddin told Bangla Tribune on Friday (Nov 9) night.
Dr Farashuddin, the seventh governor of Bangladesh Bank (1998-2001), desires to contest the 11th national polls as a candidate of the ruling AL from Habiganj-4 constituency.
“I am ready for contesting the next parliamentary election and if the party Chief Sheikh Hasina gives me the nomination I will contest the polls,” he said
The current Member of Parliament (MP) at Habiganj-4 constituency is an Awami League leader Advocate Mahbub Ali.
