Rise up to free the country: Mirza FakhrulTalking at a National Press Club gathering, BNP secretary general has called for the nation to rise up not only for safe roads and safe Bangladesh but for a ‘free’ Bangladesh.
He made the call at a solidarity gathering against media repression, organized by a section of the Bangladesh Federal Journalists’ Union and Dhaka Journalists’ Union.
We have put our full support behind the students’ movement and we call on the people of the nation to rise up, he commented.
The veteran BNP leader also said, to save the people of the country, everyone should be united.
“Let’s all get together and remove the beast which is upon the nation.”
What can one expect in a country when a judge is forced to go overseas at the point of a gun? Lashed out the BNP politician.
“The remand order of students who are in jail for being in the recent movement cannot be revoked while those who looted crores from banks are roaming about freely,” deplored Alamgir.
Commenting on Obaidul Quader’s statement that echoes of the 1/11 conspiracy can still be heard, Alamgir said: “if you hear the echoes of 1/11 then why are you still in power?”
The main beneficiary of 1/11 in Awami League, he asserted.
