SAZZAD HOSSAIN/File PhotoThe interrogations of 33 Public Works Department (PWD) engineers have unveiled useful details regarding the alleged corruption at residential complex in the Rooppur nuclear power plant (RNPP), says the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC Secretary Muhammad Dilwar Bakht briefed reporters over the ongoing probe on a media call at ACC headquarters on Monday (Nov 11).
“We are verifying the information found during the interrogations. If any document validates the engineers’ testimony, we will start a case,” ACC official Dilwar said.
Earlier, ACC has summoned 33 PWD engineers, including its Executive Engineer Masudul Alam, over irregularities in procurement of furniture for the RNPP residential complex.
A media report showing the excessive amount of money spent to purchase and move these and other household products at RNPP residential complex in May this year, drew widespread censure from people prompting the government to open a probe.
