34 female and 62 male workers, apparently victims of maltreatment, returned from Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) official Mahbubur Rahman Ansari confirmed their return to Bangladesh.
“34 female workers returned home by two flights and from the Expat Welfare desk, we did whatever possible to help them.”
Meanwhile, the desk is not aware of the 62 male workers who returned home by Saudi Airline last night.
A returnee, Nurul Islam, told Bangla Tribune, “We are 62 returned home by this flight. We had valid passport and work permit, even then the police rounded us up and sent back to Dhaka.”
We went to Bangladesh mission in Saudi Arabia, but they did not help us, he said.
