Expelled Jubo League leader Khaled on remand for murder

File photo of Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan.A court in Dhaka has placed expelled Organizing Secretary of Jubo League’s Dhaka North unit Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan on a seven-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of a man and his son.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atikul Islam issued the order on Wednesday (Oct 23) after investigating officer of the case, PBI Police Super Mina Mahmuda sought a 10-day remand.
According to case statement, Khilgaon’s Israil Hossain and his son Saymon had withdrawn Tk 3.8 million from Rajdhani Money Exchange on Sep 4, 2014.
On the way home, 3-4 armed assailants shot them leaving them injured and stanched the money. They died at hospital.
On the next day, Israil’s brother Mojibur Rahman filed a murder case with Khilgaon police.
Police filed the probe report in the case in 2016, which the court later ordered Police Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.
Khaled was shown arrested in the case.
On Sep 18, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Khaled from his of Gulshan residence in possession of arms, bullets, drugs and Tk 1.34 million at the beginning of the countrywide crackdown on illegal casino operation.
