Two former leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been detained with firearm and drugs from a Dhaka University dormitory.
Hasibur Rahman Tushar and Abu Bakar Alif were detained and handed over to the police on Tuesday (Oct 8) following a raid at the Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall led by Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani.
“We led a raid based on a tip-off and detained two with arms, yaba, phensedyl and other drugs. They were later handed over to the police,” he said.
Tushar is a fourth-year student of the Institute of Education and Research faculty while Alif is from the Islamic History and Culture department.
They were recently expelled from the student organisation’s Dhaka University unit as deputy secretaries.
