CCTV footage shows youths carrying Abrar

A CCTV footage obtained by Bangla Tribune revealed that slain student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Abrar Fahad, was carried towards the staircase at Sher-e-Bangla Hall by a group of students.
The students, who appear to belong to the university were carrying the 21-year-old towards the staircases from the first floor where police recovered his body.
It, however, isn’t clear from the footage whether Abrar was dead by then or critically injured.

A second-year student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Abrarwas found dead in the dormitory’s stairway in the early hours of Monday (Oct 7).
A resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall, Abrar was called up from his room at 7:30pm on Sunday, said police, quoting the students of the hall.
His family started a murder case accusing 19 Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders after police detained them in relation to the incident.
All nine of the detainees are part BCL’s BUET unit committee, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy told the media.
The detainees are- BCL’s BUET unit General Secretary Mehedi Hassan Rasel, Vice President Mustakim Fuad, Assistant General Secretary Ashiqul Islam Bitu, Deputy Office Secretary Mujtaba Rafid, Deputy Social Welfare Secretary Ifti Mosharraf Shokal, Deputy Law Secretary Amit Shaha, Sports Secretary Sefayetul Islam Jion, Information and Research Secretary Anik Sarker and Library Affairs Secretary Ishtiaq Munshi.
Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, after the autopsy, said that Abrar died of “internal bleeding and excessive pain” as he was badly beaten up by blunt objects like cricket stump or bamboo stick.
